Disputes With A Contractor

To the Editor:

With regard to your column "Disputes With A Contractor" (Aug.11) your readers should be informed that the Home Improvement Trust Fund maintained by the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs is available not only to owners of private houses, but to some co-op and condo owners as well. Under the applicable law, the definition of an owner includes corporations and associations as well as individuals. The fund is available, however, only to buildings containing no more than four residential units.
