NEW NAME, NEW OFFICE, NEW FACES!
"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven"
-Ecclesiastes

September is always a time of change - summer fades away, student return to school, and the pace of life seems to pick up a bit as the air transforms from sweltering and humid to crisp and cool.  And so it just makes sense that September opens a new chapter in my legal practice; a new firm name, a new office location, and since the last issue of this newsletter, some new additions to our family.

In this newsletter you'll find the details of those changes.  I'm also hoping that in the days and weeks to come, you'll notice yet another change - an even higher level of attention and service to our client's legal needs.

So welcome to September! Maw the new season bring you new reasons for hope and celebration

-Bruce Feffer

New Faces

Our firm welcomes the addition of Jennifer A. Schwartz, an Associate Attorney with a background in civil litigation, and our newest office assistant, Michelle Han.  Congratulations to our Legal Assistants Robin Lau and Cindy Millan, both of whom had new baby boys this year (future lawyers perhaps?)

New Name, New Place

We recently leased 4,400 square feet of office space at 30 Broad Street, in the heart of the Financial District.  The new office is newly renovated, modern and spacious.  In order to reflect the expansion of the firm, we’ve changed our name to "Bruce Feffer & Associates, LLC."  We hope our clients will find this new location as comfortable and attractive as we do.

Found Money

Everyone loves to receive unexpected money, whether it's loose coins in the sofa of a twenty dollar bill in an old coat pocket.  The New York State Controller's Office of Unclaimed Funds my be holding money for you that you have not been expecting or had perhaps forgotten about.  By visiting www.osc.state.ny.us, we were recently able to locate unexpected money for a client.  Maybe there's a pot of gold waiting for you too!

New Website

Still under construction, our new website will be available in the coming weeks.  The site will of course feature our firm profile, detailing our work and accomplishments, but will also offer valuable articles and information on real estate, business, and other issues of interest to our clients.  You'll find it at www.brucefeffer.com.  Please watch for it and let us know what you think.

Move In With Me!

I presently have 1-4 windowed offices to rent to a lawyer, accountant, consultant or other service professional.  Conference room, kitchen, receptionist all included (as well as a bunch of nice people!).  If interested, e-mail brufef@aol.com

Tsunami Song

After radio station WQHT-FM ("Hot-97") broadcast an outrageous song mocking victims of last year's tsunami disaster in Asia, including highly offensive racial and ethnic slurs, I was invited t serve as Counsel to the Coalition Against Hate Media ("CAHM") a coalition of civil rights organizations dedicated to fighting racism and discrimination.  With the support of elected officials, responsible corporations, and relentless volunteers, CAHM was able to pressure Emmis Broadcasting (the owner of WQHT-FM) to donate one million dollars to tsunami relief efforts.  More work remains to be done to combat "hate speech" wherever and whenever it arises.  To support CAHM, visit www.coalitionsagainsthatemedia.org or send me and e-mail.
